This was a horrible idea I used the locker feature religiously and I had a lot of work saved to it. What happened to all the work I saved?

The university pays for each individual student to have a Google account. If you haven’t noticed, by signing into your school email account, you have access to all of Google’s tool / applications. The locker on springboard is completely useless now that there is an easier, cheaper, and much larger storage tool available in Google Drive (And EVERYONE has access to this). Complaining about the “locker” being removed is like complaining that all of the computers around campus don’t have a 3.5″ floppy drive anymore. And I’d love to see this decision emailed to the student body, it’s so rediculously un-important that they’d probably get 5 total votes.

The course I am auditing through the 60+ program, Labor Economics, 3250:333-001, does not show up for access through Springboard. Can you help?

This was a a decision that should have been made by the student body. Regardless of what one person thinks, this was a helpful tool for many students who either may not have a storage space of their own or quite possibly may have forgotten it somewhere. Whatever the case, the locker tool HELPED students. It was a safe, dependable place to store assignments. I am in favor of bringing it back.

Can we at at least have the network not throttle traffic to Microsoft Skydrive if we are pushing cloud based storage? Last I checked about a couple months ago, trying to access even the web based option was completely unusable due to throttling in Polsky.

He said costs associated with maintaining their own hardware, they still have to pay per user to use Google Apps for Business, so they are getting more value for their money. 1MB vs 5120MB and numerous features that the locker would never be capable of. I also didn’t see any doublethink or newspeak. He wasn’t trying to be flashy by mentioning the 2 terabytes, he was pointing out there is no way to provide 20,000+ students the same level of features and amount of storage that other online storage services provide without a significant investment or infrastructure overhaul. The University may have its faults but if you’re that critical of the University, do us a favor and transfer to Kent, at least there it’s cool to hate Akron.

I am not in favor of this at all. The locker on springboard was very convienent and helped me out greatly. I hope whoever the head guys are in charge of springboard bring it back, I can’t imagine it being a huge cost that can’t be covered by our fees.

Hi Sean, Due to the limitations of iOS, the only files you are able to upload from an iPad are images and videos that are saved in your device’s camera roll. This is not a limitation of Springboard.

A workaround is to utilize dropbox.com or another cloud service. Dropbox and other services can provide you with a link to a file that can be added to Springboard as a Quick Link. I’ve done this with my courses in the past with good success.

it seems that the dropbox does not support ipad submission. is it true, can it be improved?
