Education:

07/2012 – 07/2016:  B.Tech. Polymer Engineering & Technology (Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai, India)

Work Experience:

May 2015 – July 2015

Research Intern (Platform Development Group – Corporate Research Materials Lab)

R&D Innovation Center, 3M India Ltd. (Bangalore, India)

Conducted two original research projects:

  • Understanding the chemistry of moisture-cured, one-component polyurethane systems and hence designing ways to increase the in-can stability (shelf-life) of such systems.
  • Exploiting the advantages of two-component polyurethane systems and hence developing formulations in the application of heat management.

June 2014 – July 2014

Operations Trainee (Production)Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited, Uran Plant – Navi Mumbai (India)

  • Conducted a detailed study of various oil and gas processing units like Crude Stabilization Unit (CSU), Gas Sweetening Unit (GSU), Liquefied Petroleum Gas Unit (LPG), Ethane-Propane Recovery Unit (EPRU), Condensate Fractionation Unit (CFU) and various Additional Processing Units like Flare Gas Recovery Unit (FGRU) and Slug Catcher Utilities.
  • Assigned with the task of designing a fractionation column for the LPG Unit with an aim to recover all the butane in the distillates which was, otherwise, lost in the bottoms. The designed column was then simulated in ASPEN HYSYS to check its validity. The design was strictly in coherence with the economic feasibility of the plant to employ the same.
  • Simulation of LPG Unit and EPRU Unit using ASPEN HYSYS.

Research Interests:

Aiding in unraveling the mysteries of one of the most under-explored and complex materials in the living kingdom i.e. melanin; self-assembly of nanoparticles; structural colors; microfluidics.
