(1) List your judicial experience (courts and years):
I have practiced law in Allen and 16 surrounding counties for 36 years as well as the Federal District Court in Toledo and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeal in Cincinnati. Practice has consisted of litigation in medical malpractice, personal injury, commercial litigation, divorce, estate administration, real estate litigation, trust administration as well as representing defendants charged with crimes.
(2) What about your non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a judge?
I have served on boards of education for two different schools in Allen County as well as the Allen County Historical Society, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Service with these boards has presented the opportunity to facilitate the action of the various groups in areas affecting the community.
(3) Why are you running for this particular court seat?
A vacancy created by the retirement of the incumbent requires someone with the appropriate temperament and broad based experience to fill the position. No other candidate has the depth of experience in as many areas of the law as I. The 36 years I have spent practicing law have prepared me to do my part to continue the legacy of competent and impartial service to our community that Allen County Common Pleas Court Judges have delivered for many decades.
