Engineering professor wins Archer Daniels Midland Award

Congratulations to Dr. Lu-Kwang Ju and Dr. Abdullah Loman for receiving the Archer Daniels Midland Award from the American Oil Chemists’ Society (AOCS).

They are recognized for their article in the Journal of the American Oil Chemists’ Society with the title “Optimization of Enzymatic Process Condition for Protein Enrichment, Sugar Recovery and Digestibility Improvement of Soy Flour.

This award, offered since 1984, recognizes an “outstanding published paper or monograph in the area of phospholipid research or applications for phospholipids.”

Dr. Ju will receive this award during the 2017 AOCS Annual Meeting and Industry Showcase in Orlando, Fla., in late April.

The AOCS, formed in 1909, has about 4,000 members across 90 countries. The organization, according to its website, is devoted to advancing “the science and technology of oils, fats, surfactants and related materials, enriching the lives of people everywhere.”
