Latham & Watkins 1L Fellowship for Summer 2016

AkronLawJobs No. 6903 Overview:  The 1L Fellowship Program offers a unique summer employment opportunity for students who have just finished their first year of law school to gain valuable professional experience, mentoring and training early in their careers. Seeking students who are committed to promoting inclusion and diversity in the legal profession and who also possess a long-term interest in practicing law in a global law firm.

Qualification:  Must be a 1L

Benefits of the program:  5 to 6 weeks in a Latham office during summer 2016. 4-5 weeks at a Latham client during summer 2016. 2017 summer associate position upon successful completion of the 1L Fellowship Program. Upon acceptance of an offer to return as a 2017 summer associate, participants will receive a $10,000 scholarship through the 2L Diversity Scholars Program. Invitation to the firm’s Diversity Leadership Academy held on April 1-3, 2016 in San Francisco (firm sponsored, including hotel, meals, and travel). Participation at June 2016 Summer Academy in Long Beach, CA. Ongoing mentoring from Latham lawyers.
