Great opportunity with Summit County Prosecutor’s Office – Legal Intern Certificate Required

Message from Summit County Prosecutor’s Office:
Seeking legal interns for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office – Delinquency Division. Applicants MUST have an an intern certificate (or be eligible to get one). The Delinquency Division prosecutes youth under 18 who are charged with a crime, traffic offense or truancy in Summit County. Our office is located at Juvenile Court (650 Dan Street). This is an unpaid internship, but we will work with youth who coordinate their hours for credit. Also can apply for the public interest stipend. Interns will assist with office help, case preparation, legal research and writing and will handle their own cases in court (from pretrial all the way through trial and disposition.) It’s a great opportunity for anyone interested in courtroom work, trial work, or criminal law generally. Interns will be supervised by division attorneys, and will be taught our practice from the ground up. Applicants must be able to work independently, with exceptional organization skills, and be able to work well with others. Applicants should send a resume and a letter outlining their availability (days/times during the week and the number of hours they want to work) to my attention: pasternak@prosecutor.summitoh.net. We hope to fill spots for 2 legal interns as soon as possible.
