At this time OSX 10.11 El Capitan is not compatible with Examsoft. They released the following announcement to all Examsoft Administrators:
With any new Operating System, ExamSoft begins actively testing SofTest on the new OS’ beta version a few months prior to the official release date. Even with early testing, it can take up to two months post-release to fully address any issues and announce support.
As you may know, El Capitan (OSX 10.11) was released to the public today by Apple. At this time, we are unable to announce official compatibility due to a vulnerability identified during our testing. We are working on resolving this vulnerability, however we will be preventing students from downloading or registering SofTest on a device with El Capitan until this issue is addressed. We recommend you notify students to refrain from updating to El Capitan until an official support announcement has been made.
We will keep you updated as we near making an announcement. We appreciate your patience as we work on ensuring that SofTest remains secure on all platforms.

Microsoft recently announced that it will officially release its newest operating system, Windows 10, beginning July 29, 2015. They have announced that this will be a free upgrade for existing Windows users and that users can begin to reserve their update now.
Please note that ExamSoft does not support Windows 10 at this time. Our team of skilled developers and quality assurance testers are working to certify a version of SofTest to be used with Windows 10, however in the mean time, please DO NOT UPDATE your device. We will continue to communicate directly with the ExamSoft Administrators at your institution on our progress.

The download period for exams is well under way. If you have not downloaded SofTest and your exams, please do so as soon as possible. This semester we are trying something a little different. We are not putting a deadline on the download period. In the past, it has proven to be a bad decision because students waited until the very last minute to download and had issues. Please do not let history repeat itself. Also below are a few things to remember about Examsoft.
- Most professors have a default of 10 questions on every Examsoft exam file that you download. That means you could potentially have blank questions when you submit the exam or not have enough questions in the software. If the latter is the case, then most professors ask students to just specify the number of the question within the answer.
- Do not leave the room after your exam until you receive the screen that has the green check mark congratulating you on a successful upload.
- Be sure to have your computer’s power plugged in.
- PC users will not have to input their student ID when starting an exam. However Mac users will.
- Show up to your exam at least 15 minutes early.
