Akron Law BLSA Chapter to Compete at National Level

Akron Law’s BLSA chapter had a very successful weekend at the Midwest BLSA Regional Convention in St. Louis this past weekend.

3Ls Eric Foster and Terence Baptiste earned honors as second runners up in the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition. They will compete at the national level during the National Black Law Students Association Convention in Atlanta, GA from March 6 – 10. The team is coached by professors Rick Strong and Elizabeth Shaver.

In addition, the Akron BLSA chapter was honored as the Midwest Black Law Student Association’s Small Chapter of the Year and will also compete for the title at the national level in Atlanta. This year’s BLSA officers are Terence Baptiste (President), Lavell Payne (Vice President), Samantha Hardin (Attorney General), and Lauren Simmons (Corresponding Secretary).
