Resubmission of a Previous AHA Application

Some AHA programs permit resubmission of the same or similar application (similar aims) as one submitted previously, up to three times (the original plus two resubmissions). In 2018-19, the resubmission option will be available for the Institutional Undergraduate Student Fellowship Program, AHA Predoctoral Fellowship, AHA Postdoctoral Fellowship, Career Development Award, Collaborative Sciences Award, and AHA Institutional Research Enhancement Award (AIREA).

After creating a new application in Grants@Heart, a returning applicant is given the option to copy a previous application.

Required AHA Professional Membership

Effective with deadlines after June 1, 2018, each applicant — including Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Fellowship applicants — must be an American Heart Association Professional Member. Applicants may renew or join membership via the Grants@Heart application site. You may also join or renew by phone at 301-223-2307 or 800-787-8984. There is a 3-5 day waiting period to process membership. Do not wait until the application deadline to renew or join.

Beginning with award start dates on July 1, 2018, awardees must maintain AHA Professional Membership for the entire term of funding. AHA awardees may use their AHA funding to pay AHA membership dues.
