The finite element included analysis of a horseshoe tunnel,soil deformation, building settlements, and slurry walls deformations.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Finite element analysis of deformation in very soft clay in Detroit Waste Water Treatment Plant (DWWTP) resulted from construction activities of two large clarifiers. DWWTP is considered the largest in the world.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Finite element analysis of Soo Lock, Michigan. Soo Lock is a rock navigational lock located in the Upper Peninsula in Michigan. Analysis included stability of rock masses and cuts.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Finite element analysis of tieback temporary earth retention systems for a new Casino in Detroit, Michigan.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Reviewed contractor submittals for temporary earth retention systems for various projects, including Detroit Waste Water Treatment Plant, Conner Creek Basin in Detroit, Michigan.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Managed and performed analysis for 125 and 110 feet O.D. sinking caissons in soft clay in Dearborn, Michigan.This work was part of Dearborn CSO Tunnel.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Managed and performed analysis and wrote specifications for rock blasting operations inside 125 and 110 feet O.D sinking caissons in Dearborn, Michigan. This work was part of Dearborn CSO Tunnel.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Performed analysis for Rack-40 wastewater treatment plant, Akron-Ohio. The project included a deep excavation supported by sheet piles and soil anchors in silt with artesian pressure. The dimensions of the excavation were 219x294x52 feet.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Worked as a geotechnical engineer on Marysville Tunnel project in Marysville, Ohio. The total length of the tunnel is approximately 6 miles. Cut and cover tunneling as well as tunneling using earth balanced tunnel boring machine (EBTBM) will be used to install 6-foot diameter concrete tunnel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Construction Engineering<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25c6 Managed and monitored the construction of Conner Creek Basin in soft ground in Detroit, Michigan. The site included inclinometers, piezometers, telltales, and monitoring wells. Conner Creek project included a 40 feet deep cofferdam, more than 7,000 piles, and creek dredging. Reviewed contractor submittals, and performed construction inspection.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Managed and monitored the construction of two large clarifiers (125-foot inside diameter each) in soft ground in Detroit Waste Water Treatment Plant, Detroit, Michigan. The site included inclinometers, piezometers, extensometers, and monitoring wells. The project included temporary earth retention systems and more than 300 piles. Reviewed contractor submittals, and performed construction inspection.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Managed and monitored the vibration and blasting of rock for Grosse Ile Waste Water Treatment Plant, Grosse Ile, Michigan. Project included blasting rock for basin foundation and sewer alignment. Sewer alignment extended approximately 3 miles within residential areas. Responsibilities included vibration monitoring and blast program design depending on vibration limits.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Managed, supervised, and performed cost estimates for one of Dearborn CSO tunnel alternatives. The cost of the alternative was approximately 900 million dollars. Structures within the project included riser shafts, drop shafts, diversion chambers and dechlorination structures. Tunnel will be constructed in soft soil and rock.<br \/>\n\u25c6 Managed and monitored construction projects in southern Michigan.
