A little about what we do
The Jia Research Group functions in the research fields of chemistry and polymer science. We choose problems that are both fundamentally interesting and relevant to the real world. Our projects usually encompass chemical synthesis, characterization of molecular and morphological structures, and study of the properties pertinent to the intended applications. Reaction mechanisms and structure-property relationships glue our group together intellectually. We always ask the question “why”. Our group members come from different backgrounds and have different areas of expertise. We integrate the diverse expertise of members within the group and in other groups through collaboration and teamwork.
Current projects in the group fall in two areas: catalytic carbonylative polymerization for synthesis of environmentally sustainable plastics and chemistry and processing technology of elastomers. Please go to Catalysis and Elastomers to find out more about our projects.
