(1) List your judicial experience (courts and years):<\/strong>
\nIn 2015, I served as an Akron Municipal Court Judge. I heard multiple
\njury trials; trials to the Court (where the judge rules on a case), and
\nevidentiary hearings such as: motions to suppress evidence, appeals of
\neviction proceedings, motions to seal records, etc. In all I was
\nresponsible for approaching 2,000 cases during my tenure as Judge of
\nthe Akron Municipal Court.
\nBetween 1991 and approximately 2003, served as an panel arbitrator
\nand chief arbitrator in civil matters in the Summit County Common
\nPleas Court. During arbitrations, the panel heard evidence, ruled on
\nobjections, and made decisions on civil cases referred by presiding
\njudges. In 1989 I was selected by Summit County Common Pleas Judge
\nGlen Morgan to serve as his judicial attorney. During that time I
\nresearched and drafted judicial rulings on all matters before the court. I
\nalso learned and handled the administrative duties of the court over the
\ntwo years serving as a judicial attorney.<\/p>\n

(2) What about your non-judicial legal experience quali\u00d7es you to be a<\/strong>
\njudge?<\/strong>
\nOver the past 26 years I have practiced law as a trial attorney in
\ncriminal, civil, domestic and probate matters before most of the judges
\nin Summit, Medina and Portage Counties. I have conducted
\napproximately 50 jury trials, and countless evidentiary hearings over
\nthe course of my law practice. During that time, I have developed an
\nextensive knowledge of the law, procedures, protocols, and
\nadministration of those courts. That knowledge has equipped me to
\nunderstand and ef\u00d7ciently preside as a judge of the Summit County
\nCommon Pleas Court.
\nIn addition, I am well known, and well respected as a trial attorney in
\nthe northeast Ohio area by the judges themselves, and my fellow
\nattorneys. A judge also has a role in the efficient administration of the
\ncourt resources and personnel. Knowing the judges who sit on the
\nSummit County Common Pleas bench, along with most of the staff
\nwould assist me in being an effective judge.<\/p>\n

(3) Why are you running for this particular court seat?<\/strong>
\nThere is a long legal tradition (7 attorneys; 1 judge) in my family. I have
\nbeen raised within it; have embraced it; and have thoroughly enjoyed it.
\nMy grandfather Tony Lombardi, served as a Common Pleas judge. I was
\ndrawn to the judicial role by my grandfather, whom I loved and admired.
\nI had the privilege of serving as an Akron Municipal judge in 2015, and
\nloved the position. I am running again to fulfill a dream, a calling, and to
\nseek a position I respect and aspire to attain. Lastly, and most
\nimportant, I am a man of faith, and fairness. I believe that our judiciary
\nhas a duty to provide the fair and ef\u00d7cient administration of justice to
\nthe citizens of the community. This is particularly true when today, it
\nseems that many citizens are skeptical of the legal system. That
\nreputation needs to change, and I wish to work toward that change.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
