Presided over hearings involving first-time and misdemeanor<br \/>\njuvenile offenders. Listened to testimony of police officers, juveniles,<br \/>\nand their parents. Rendered dispositions, including community service,<br \/>\ncurfew, random drug screens, attending drug awareness courses and<br \/>\nreferrals for counseling.<br \/>\nCommon Pleas Court Judicial Staff Attorney \u2013 2005-present.<br \/>\nMaintained and coordinated civil docket. Cases included personal<br \/>\ninjury, contract, property, class action, medical malpractice, nursing<br \/>\nhome abuse, wrongful death, and insurance litigation. Conducted case<br \/>\nmanagement conferences, default hearings, pretrials, and settlement<br \/>\nconferences on behalf of the court. I worked<br \/>\nat both the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor\u2019s Office and the Cuyahoga<br \/>\nCounty Public Defender\u2019s Office, researching and trying numerous<br \/>\ncases. I also worked at two law firms in private practice. Before I started<br \/>\nmy legal career I obtained a Master of Arts degree and was a board<br \/>\nmember for The Cleveland Sculpture Center. I did extensive research<br \/>\nand writing, and contributed to and co-authored two publications with<br \/>\nthe Library of Congress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) Why are you running for this particular court seat?<\/strong><br \/>\nI am currently employed at Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court as<br \/>\na Judicial Staff Attorney. I have worked for the Court\u2019s General Division<br \/>\nfor over 13 years, and have extensive knowledge and experience<br \/>\nhandling civil cases. Civil cases make up approximately 70 percent of a<br \/>\nJudge\u2019s docket at the General Division of Common Pleas Court.<br \/>\nI also have extensive experience working as both a Prosecutor and a<br \/>\nPublic Defender on criminal cases. This unique experience of being<br \/>\nboth a Prosecutor and Public Defender has taught me the importance<br \/>\nof being honest, impartial, and fair. I have been an attorney in excellent<br \/>\nstanding for twenty years. I have the work ethic, experience, skills, and<br \/>\nknowledge to preside over both civil and criminal cases as an impartial<br \/>\nand excellent Judge.
