I am also experienced in<br \/>\npracticing in specialized dockets such as mental health docket<br \/>\ncourtrooms.<br \/>\nBeing in the court every day, I have the institutional knowledge of the<br \/>\nday-to-day administration as well as all the programming offered<br \/>\nthrough the court. Civil: litigation attorney with large Cleveland firm<br \/>\nhandling general litigation matters including but not limited to contract,<br \/>\nreal estate, intellectual property\/trade secret, environmental,<br \/>\nemployment, bankruptcy and Fair Debt Collection cases. I also<br \/>\nrepresented the government in several areas of law including civil<br \/>\nrights, criminal appeals, labor and employment, tort, and guardianship<br \/>\ncases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) Why are you running for this particular court seat?<\/strong><br \/>\nI am running for Judge to change the way our community and our court<br \/>\nresponds to Domestic Violence. Domestic violence is the most frequent<br \/>\ncall for police service in Cuyahoga County. Violence in the home is<br \/>\nextremely difficult to overcome and address in our courts because of<br \/>\nthe complex emotional, intimate and economic dependency issues that<br \/>\nsurround it. My goal is to start a specialized Domestic Violence Docket<br \/>\nto put more resources to work for our families. I am uniquely qualified<br \/>\nto accomplish this goal through my certification as a trained domestic<br \/>\nviolence volunteer, and as an experienced prosecutor handling<br \/>\ndomestic violence cases daily.<\/p>\n<p>As an assistant county prosecutor, I prosecute some of the most violent<br \/>\ncrimes that plague our neighborhoods and understand the crime, drug,<br \/>\nand gun issues facing our community. I know the difference between<br \/>\nproviding the tools necessary for non-violent offenders to become<br \/>\nproductive citizens and removing those who commit violent offenses.<\/p>\n<p>As an experienced civil litigator in a large firm, and as someone who<br \/>\ngrew up in a small, family-run business, I know how important civil<br \/>\ncases are to the vitality of our community. Litigation creates<br \/>\nuncertainty in our local businesses, which in-turn stalls investment,<br \/>\ngrowth, and job creation. I have the experience and the work ethic to<br \/>\ndiligently handle both the civil and criminal dockets.
