During this time I have presided over more than<br \/>\n60 jury trials, dozens of bench trials, and thousands of cases to<br \/>\nresolution. I also serve on the Court\u2019s Personnel, Technology, and<br \/>\nVeterans\u2019 Services Committees and am the Vice Chair of the Ohio State<br \/>\nBar Association\u2019s Judicial Administration &amp; Legal Reform Committee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(2) What about your non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>judge?<\/strong><br \/>\nPrior to becoming a Judge, I spent 17 years with the law \u00d7rm of Bricker<br \/>\n&amp; Eckler LLP in Columbus, Ohio. At Bricker &amp; Eckler, I started as an<br \/>\nAssociate in 1995 and became a Partner in 2003. My practice included<br \/>\ncomplex litigation matters, primarily in the fields of construction<br \/>\nlitigation, eminent domain, annexation, and medical malpractice. I tried<br \/>\ncases in various county common pleas courts in the State of Ohio as<br \/>\nwell as in federal court. I was also involved in the firm\u2019s pro bono<br \/>\nefforts, including providing pro bono legal services and acting as one of<br \/>\nthe firm\u2019s pro bono coordinators.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(3) Why are you running for this particular court seat?<\/strong><br \/>\nServing as a Judge in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas has<br \/>\nbeen a tremendous honor. I recognize that it is also a tremendous<br \/>\nresponsibility. As a Judge, it is my job to safeguard each party\u2019s right to<br \/>\nefficient, fair and impartial relief from the Court. It is also my obligation<br \/>\nto know the law, follow the law and render opinions that are well<br \/>\nthought out and timely. Finally, it is my role to assure that the<br \/>\ncourtroom is a place where all parties and their counsel are treated<br \/>\nequally and with dignity and respect.
