(1) List your judicial experience (courts and years):<\/strong>
\nI am honored and privileged to have been appointed by the Governor to
\nthe First District Court of Appeals in February 2017. I have heard
\nhundreds of appeals from all trial courts in Hamilton County\u2013 Common
\nPleas, Probate, Juvenile, Domestic Relations & Municipal.
\nThe topics have included death penalty, felony, misdemeanor, zoning,
\ncollective bargaining, constitutional questions, leases, foreclosures,
\ncontracts, arbitration, sexual predator registration, parental rights,
\njuvenile delinquency, adoption, administrative law, and many others. I
\nam also honored to have been selected by the Chief Justice to sit on the
\nSupreme Court of Ohio as a visiting judge in place of a recused justice
\non a case set for April 24, 2018.<\/p>\n

(2) What about your non-judicial legal experience qualifies you to be a<\/strong>
\njudge?<\/strong>
\nPrior to assuming the bench, I was an AV Preeminent rated trial
\nattorney at KMK, a large law \u00d7rm based in Cincinnati. I handled trials in
\ncourts across the country, involving parties and transactions from
\naround the world. Important to my current job as an appeals court
\njudge, I handled numerous appeals in various Courts of Appeals in Ohio,
\nthe U.S. Sixth Circuit, and the Ohio Supreme Court. The cases I handled
\nincluded landlord\/tenant issues, torts, contract disputes, zoning,
\nelection law, criminal, class action defense, shareholder suits, labor and
\nemployment, customs, international trade, intellectual property, and
\nmany others.
\nI also served on the Hamilton County Public Defender Commission.
\nThis broad range of experience well prepared me for the broad range of
\ncases we see. Early in my career, I served as a law clerk for Justice
\nO\u2019Connor at the Supreme Court of Ohio, where I was exposed to the
\nhighest level of appellate legal practice in the State of Ohio. Assisting
\nwith the review of those cases and crafting the written decisions,
\ntaught me the skills and attributes necessary to be a good appellant
\njudge.<\/p>\n

(3) Why are you running for this particular court seat?<\/strong>
\nI am passionate about my work. During oral arguments, I engage with
\ncounsel to make sure the legal issues are framed in the clearest way
\npossible. In my written decisions, I strive to fully articulate and address
\nthe strengths of each party\u2019s case\u2013particularly that of the losing party. I
\ndo this so the parties understand that their arguments have been heard
\nand to help the lower courts best understand exactly what our court
