All of the information is available on our scholarship page, but in order to participate in our scholarship contest, student applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Full-time students
- Over the age of 18
- Enrolled in a current or upcoming accredited law program (i.e., law school or a pre-law undergraduate program)
To apply, students must submit an essay to firstname.lastname@example.org answering the scholarship prompt, which is: “What changes do you see occurring in the legal field over the next five years? How would you like to see lawyers incorporate innovative ways of delivering legal services during this time?” The deadline to apply is August 15, 2021, and we will announce the winner of the $1,000 scholarship by August 30, 2021.
The deadline for The Freedom From Religion Foundation’s essay contest is quickly approaching. FFRF is offering over $9,000 in prizes for the top three essays submitted on the topic, and $500 honorable mentions at judges’ discretion.
ESSAY TOPIC: Why “history” shouldn’t justify violations of the separation between state and church.
WORD LENGTH: 1,500 words (not including footnotes)
PRIZE INFORMATION: 1st Place $4,000, 2nd Place $3,000, and 3rd Place $2,000

ELIGIBILITY: The contest is open to students enrolled in a North American law school during the 2020-21 academic year. You remain eligible to enter this contest if you are a 3L and graduate from law school in 2021. You are not eligible to enter if you will be starting law school for the first time in the fall of 2021. You may not re-enter if FFRF has already awarded you for a law student essay.

Our firm is renewing our third annual $1000.00 scholarship available to undergraduates or graduate students – the Avnet Law 2021 National Scholarship. The scholarship is available to any student who demonstrates a history of either community service or community involvement. Elite Lawyer, a directory and rating service that recognizes high-achieving attorneys who have made significant contributions to their communities and the legal profession is offering a $500 scholarship for the Fall 2021 semester to support college students who have a similar passion for making a difference in their communities.
Applications are open to students who:
- Are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited U.S. college or university for Fall 2021
- Are at least 18 years old
- Have a current GPA of at least 3.0
