The DC Law Scholarship (Formerly known as the Christensen Law Firm Scholarship), worth $2000, is designed to help one law school student pay for their tuition costs.
Who is eligible: Admitted law school students attending an accredited law school in the United States with a minimum of 3.5 GPA
Application instructions: Applications including all supporting documents must be submitted in full, online, by January 31, 2020 in order to be considered. A winner will be announced on, or before, February 28, 2020 at which point we will arrange to have $2000 sent to the student’s financial aid department to help pay for their tuition costs. We believe that in the right hands, a law degree is a powerful tool to extinguish injustice and bring about positive social change. That is why we are seeking to help one deserving student who plans to enter law school in Fall 2019, by contributing $10,000 towards their first-year tuition with the One Lawyer Can Change the World Scholarship.
This May, AAJ’s Minority Caucus will award one $5,000 scholarship to a minority law student who is entering his or her 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of law school. By awarding one deserving student the Richard D. Hailey Scholarship, we hope to accommodate a student of color by providing financial assistance to further develop his or her educational growth. Each application must include the following: •
A 500-word essay explaining how you meet the scholarship’s criteria;
Up to three (3) letters of recommendations from a faculty adviser, trial advocacy professor, dean, AAJ member, or trial lawyer; and •
A completed form verifying your student status.
