Here is an update about the National Trial Advocacy Competition held October 25-18 at Michigan State University. Representing Akron were Laci Mason (3L), Michael Karst (3L), Maxwell Hiltner (3L), and Susan Mills-Martinez (2L). During the three preliminary rounds, Akron competed against Creighton University School of Law, University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and The John Marshall Law School.\u00a0 After a great showing in the preliminary rounds, the first cut went from 26 teams to 8. Akron was one of the 8 teams to move on to the quarter-finals.\u00a0 In the quarter-finals, Akron competed against Georgia State College of Law.\u00a0 After a grueling and competitive match up, Akron split the judges but fell to Georgia State.<\/p>\n
This was the first time Akron made the quarter-finals at the NTAC competition.\u00a0 Laci, Michael, Max, and Susan represented Akron and\u00a0Akron’s trial team well. Please congratulate them for their achievement at MSU.<\/p>\n
