The Admissions Office is seeking law students to assist with our January Open House on Saturday, January 9, 2010.<\/p>\n
Volunteers are requested as follows: \u00a0<\/p>\n
Check-In and Welcome \u2013 12:00 pm \u2013 1:00 pm:<\/strong> One or two students are needed to assist with check-in of our guests. This will involve distributing information packets, shaking hands, smiling, and being friendly. \u00a0<\/p>\n Building Tours \u2013 12:00 pm \u2013 1:00 pm:<\/strong> Several students are needed to guide 20-minute building tours before the panel discussion. If you have never given a tour of the building before, don\u2019t worry \u2013 I will provide you with notes to help you along. \u00a0<\/p>\n Student\/Alumni Panel \u2013 1:15 pm \u2013 2:00 pm:<\/strong> A mix of full-time and part-time students is needed for a 30-minute panel discussion about life as a law student. Most of the people in attendance at this event will be applying for admission to the fall 2010 entering class, so their level of familiarity with law school will likely be fairly low. This panel is about the basics \u2013 how much do you study per week, where do you live, how does law school affect your relationship with your wife\/husband\/family, what you like about law school, what you don\u2019t like, etc. Each panelist will have 3-5 minutes to speak individually, and there will be approximately 5-10 minutes for questions from the audience. \u00a0<\/p>\n If you are available to help, please e-mail me (apm@uakron.edu<\/a>) at your earliest opportunity with the following information: The Admissions Office has historically received a tremendous amount of support from the student body for our events.
