Goldberg, Associate Justice of The Supreme Court of the United States, Secretary of Labor, and United States Representative to the United Nations.\u00a0 Justice Goldberg&#8217;s willingness to come to The University of Akron School of Law and teach, as the Inaugural Holder of both the David L. Brennan Chair of Law and the John F. Seiberling Chair in Constitutional Law, is hereby acknowledged through the establishment of this memorial tribute.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">In recognition of Justice Goldberg&#8217;s continued interest in women&#8217;s rights and support for the intellectual development of women lawyers, this prize is awarded annually to a graduating senior woman (December and May combined), as determined by the Dean or his\/her designee, with consideration given to the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Active interest in Constitutional Law as evidenced by course selection and extracurricular activities;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: medium\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Excellence in Constitutional Law as evidenced by class performance, extracurricular activities, or scholarly writing; and<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Leadership in the School of Law, the community, or the legal profession.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000\">December 2013 female graduates interested in being considered for this prize should submit a resume and personal statement to Mrs. Misty D.
