{"id":2269,"date":"2010-03-10T09:54:48","date_gmt":"2010-03-10T14:54:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/?p=2269"},"modified":"2010-03-10T09:54:48","modified_gmt":"2010-03-10T14:54:48","slug":"lexis-and-westlaw-academic-password-use","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/2010\/03\/10\/lexis-and-westlaw-academic-password-use\/","title":{"rendered":"LEXIS and WESTLAW Academic Password Use"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Your law school passwords for LEXIS and WESTLAW must only be used for educational purposes directly related to coursework at the law school.\u00a0 Other use may be a violation of the Student Disciplinary Code and a breach of our contracts with LEXIS and WESTLAW.\u00a0 Using LEXIS or WESTLAW to do research in a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">paid<\/span> position as a law clerk, intern, or clinician working for a firm, governmental entity or a nonprofit organization would violate the Student Disciplinary Code.\u00a0 Also, you are not permitted to conduct legal research on LEXIS and WESTLAW for friends and family.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to sanctions by the School of Law, a contract violation can result in having to pay the vendors for the services misused.\u00a0 Repayment will be at commercial rates of about $2.00 &#8211;
