This is the last week to apply for a summer clerkship at the Institute for Justice. IJ is the national law firm for liberty and clerkships are a great way to get a foot in the door. Clerks are an integral part of our team. We rely on them for legal research that will factor into our strategic litigation for years to come as well as work on our current cases. –\tEnding the abuse of civil forfeiture (The Philadelphia Daily News reports that we\u2019re shaming the DA into submission)
\n–\tAn eminent domain case in Atlantic City, New Jersey that just garnered over 100,000 signatures on Change.org
\n–\tGalassini v. Town of Fountain Hills, where we\u2019re challenging Arizona\u2019s definition of a political committee (spoiler: it\u2019s an unintelligible 183 word sentence, includes a woman who emailed 23 friends to make posters about a road bond issue, and it\u2019s unconstitutional)
\n–\tOcheesee Creamery v. Putnam and Newton where our client simply wants to label her pure, pasteurized skim milk as \u201cpasteurized skim milk,\u201d but the government has banned her honest label unless she injects the milk with an artificial additive.
\n–\tDefending Texas craft brewers who are forced to give away a valuable part of their business to distributors just to make beer distributors wealthier<\/p>\n
