Holub Pro Bono Bankruptcy Project is a collaborative project between the Akron Bar Association, Community Legal Aid, and the law school.\u00a0 Students will receive\u00a0substantive training on bankruptcy law and work directly with clients.\u00a0 With attorney supervision, students get hands-on experience preparing case files for simple no-asset Chapter 7 Bankruptcy petitions.\u00a0 An interest in practicing bankruptcy law is not necessary;\u00a0the skills learned are transferrable to many areas of law.<\/p>\n<p>The Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP)\u00a0at Community Legal Aid is seeking volunteer law students who are interested in developing skills in the following areas:\u00a0 client interviewing, client meetings, legal research, case management, drafting advice letters, and preparing Chapter 7 bankruptcy petitions.\u00a0 Because of the training involved, students are asked to commit their time for the full semester.<\/p>\n<p>If interested in volunteering, please contact Cindy Adair (<a href=\"mailto:cadair@communitylegalaid.org\">cadair@communitylegalaid.org<\/a>).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bankruptcy Project:\u00a0 The Jerome L.
