In today\u2019s tough employment market, knowing how to network can mean the difference between a successful
\njob search and months of continued frustration. In an upcoming session at The \u00a0Hudson Library & Historical
\nSociety, consultants Donald Wayne McLeod and Teresa Simons will teach participants \u201cHow to Network: In
\nPerson and Online.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cBeing able to truly connect with others benefits you professionally, personally and financially,\u201d says McLeod,
\nfounder of LISTEN Up, an interpersonal communication consulting company.McLeod will discuss how to leverage everyday skills, like listening, remembering names and showing interest in other people, into valuable networking and employment prospects. Participants will have the opportunity to practice short \u201celevator speeches\u201d that will have a lasting impact on potential employers and contacts.<\/p>\n
Simons, a LISTEN UP partner and social media expert, will explain how to use online tools like LinkedIn to
\nmaximize visibility in the employment marketplace.<\/p>\n
