Seeking students who are committed to promoting inclusion and diversity in the legal profession and who also possess a long-term interest in practicing law in a global law firm.<\/p>\n<p><em>Qualification:<\/em>\u00a0 Must be a 1L<\/p>\n<p><em>Benefits of the program:<\/em>\u00a0 5 to 6 weeks in a Latham office during summer 2016. 4-5 weeks at a Latham client during summer 2016. 2017 summer associate position upon successful completion of the 1L Fellowship Program. Upon acceptance of an offer to return as a 2017 summer associate, participants will receive a $10,000 scholarship through the 2L Diversity Scholars Program. Invitation to the firm\u2019s Diversity Leadership Academy held on April 1-3, 2016 in San Francisco (firm sponsored, including hotel, meals, and travel). Participation at June 2016 Summer Academy in Long Beach, CA. Ongoing mentoring from Latham lawyers.<\/p>\n<p><em>How to apply:<\/em>\u00a0 Send your completed application; unofficial 1L law school transcript (finalists will be required to submit official transcripts as they progress through the selection process); resume; 2 written references (from a college or law school professor and\/or work supervisor); personal statement (500 to 1,000 words): Please explain how your interests or experiences will contribute to our firm\u2019s culture, which embraces diversity and inclusion; law school personal statement.
