Cleveland, OH \u2013 Law Clerk\u00a0 \u2013 Cleveland Municipal Housing Court \u00a0<\/u><\/strong>Overview:<\/em> law clerk would be responsible for legal research on various criminal and civil law issues; drafting opinions, judgment entries and decisions; assisting the Judge and 6 Magistrates in preparation for trial and acting as personal bailiff to Magistrates as needed;\u00a0 conduct pretrial conferences, settlement conferences and mediations; assist public in obtaining information about pending cases and assist landlords and tenants with navigating the judicial system; other work as assigned by the Judge or Magistrates.<\/p>\n

Qualifications: <\/em>2L or 3L preferred but will also consider 1L students with an interest in public interest work and\/or property law.\u00a0 Previous experience in a court system is preferred but not required.\u00a0 Position requires strong legal research, writing and analytical skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize a large number of assignments.\u00a0 Friendly disposition and good interpersonal skills are a must.<\/p>\n
