POSITION TITLE:\tSummer Law Clerk \/ Intern

GENERAL SUMMARY: <\/p>\n
Under the direction and oversight of the Legal Department leadership, the Law Clerk will assist the attorneys in the department with legal services, including performing and organizing legal research, document drafting and other projects. It is helpful, but not required, if the candidate had health care related compliance experience or has taken health law classes. This is a paid summer Law Clerk position.<\/p>\n
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:<\/p>\n
\u2022\tAbility to independently research Federal and state laws and regulations.
\n\u2022\tAbility to organize, analyze and present legal research.
\n\u2022\tAssist with reviewing, drafting, and\/or proofing legal documents and templates including hospital, employment and vendor contracts.
\n\u2022\tAssist in creating a compliance \u201cfrequently asked questions\u201d library.<\/p>\n
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:<\/p>\n
\u2022\tWorking understanding of legal research, including Federal and state research.
\n\u2022\tStrong legal writing skills.
\n\u2022\tStrong computer skills.
\n\u2022\tAbility to work closely with the attorneys or staff to complete assignments in an efficient and timely manner – a self-starter.
\n\u2022\tExcellent analytical and organizational skills.
\n\u2022\tStrong verbal and written communication skills. <\/p>\n
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: <\/p>\n
A law student who has completed his or her second year of law school preferred; however, will consider a first year law student who has a healthcare compliance background or experience.<\/p>\n
