\nAkronLawJobs No. 7598 Overview: The Legal Aid Society of Cleveland (Legal Aid) seeks interested 3rd year law school students or outgoing judicial law clerks for 2017 -2019 post-graduate fellowship applications. Legal Aid is especially seeking applicants with an interest in any area of civil law that helps low-income and vulnerable people. The applicant selected will have Legal Aid\u2019s support as a \u201chost organization\u201d for the Skadden Fellowship, the Ohio Legal Assistance Foundation Justice for All Fellowship, and\/or the Equal Justice Works Fellowship applications. This call is for interested fellowship applicants only, and selection does not guarantee a job at Legal
\nQualification: Applicants must be graduating from law school in 2017, or finishing a judicial clerkship in 2017. Individuals must have a commitment to public service for low-income persons. Experience working with low-income clients, knowledge of poverty law and fluency in Spanish are a plus. In addition, applicants should demonstrate the following:
\n\u2022\tAnticipate taking the Ohio Bar Exam in 2017, or already be barred in Ohio.
\n\u2022\tAppreciation for and experience with diverse cultures and communities
\n\u2022\tExcellent legal writing, research and advocacy skills
\n\u2022\tExcellent written and verbal communication
\n\u2022\tStrong organizational and time management skills
\n\u2022\tAbility to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
\n\u2022\tWillingness to take initiative and problem-solve
