The\u00a0Expungement\u00a0Clinic helps low-income Summit County residents seal the record of their criminal convictions.\u00a0 A sealed record enables many people better access to jobs, housing, and\u00a0volunteer\u00a0opportunities.\u00a0 Students will learn integral skills in the legal field including filing paperwork with the court, drafting motions, interviewing real clients, and communicating with clients both through the mail and over the phone. Students who are eligible for a legal intern certificate will have ample opportunities to appear in court and present an oral argument.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 A student commitment to the\u00a0Expungement\u00a0Clinic can be for as few or as many hours as the student pleases.\u00a0 We do ask that you commit to at least one of our upcoming Saturday Outreach Clinics so we know how many volunteers we will have at each clinic.<\/p>\n

We will schedule the training the week of November 7-11, once we receive feedback from volunteers. Please indicate your availability for training in the email.
