{"id":40643,"date":"2016-12-14T08:59:01","date_gmt":"2016-12-14T13:59:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/?p=40643"},"modified":"2016-12-14T08:59:01","modified_gmt":"2016-12-14T13:59:01","slug":"summer-judicial-internship-diversity-project-for-law-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/2016\/12\/14\/summer-judicial-internship-diversity-project-for-law-students\/","title":{"rendered":"SUMMER JUDICIAL INTERNSHIP DIVERSITY PROJECT FOR LAW STUDENTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Judicial Resources Committee of the United States\u00a0Judicial Conference\u00a0and Just The Beginning \u2013 A Pipeline Organization<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(JRC-JTB) are pleased to announce\u00a0the sixth annual <strong>Summer Judicial Internship Diversity Project for Summer 2017<\/strong> (Project).\u00a0 The Project\u2019s goal is to provide summer judicial internships for law students from communities underrepresented in the legal profession.\u00a0\u00a0Operating nationally since 2011, the JRC-JTB Project has placed nearly\u00a0300 law students in successful internships to date. \u00a0Over 100 judges have participated in our efforts and look to the JRC-JTB Project for summer internship candidates. \u00a0Fifteen JRC-JTB intern alumni have secured post-graduate judicial clerkships.\u00a0\u00a0The Project is national in scope and will place about 100 students as judicial interns in federal appellate, district, bankruptcy, magistrate and select state appellate judges\u2019 chambers across the country.
