The Judge John R. Brown Scholarship Foundation is accepting papers for the 24th annual Brown Award. Any law student at an ABA-accredited law school may submit two copies of a current legal writing (generally, a writing similar to a law-review article) to:<\/p>\n

Students must submit a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or other legal professional in addition to the paper. The submission must be postmarked no later than\u00a0August 18, 2017<\/strong>. There is no page limitation or restriction, except the writing must be on a legal subject. The awards are as follow: first place, $10,000; second place, $5,000; third place, $3,000, and two finalists will receive a $1,000 award each. The winning student wins an additional $5,000 to the scholarship fund at the student’s law school.
