Akron Law Alumni Association seeks 2017-18 Student Director \u2013 Application Deadline: April 21, 2017<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

Message from Lia Evans, Director of Alumni and Development<\/h3>\n

The Akron Law Alumni Association (\u201cLAA\u201d) Board of Directors has a dedicated position on its Board for a student director.\u00a0 This unique and valuable opportunity provides the student director a chance to become involved in alumni leadership and activities with the law school. The student director represents Akron Law students to the LAA Board and works with the Board to identify ways in which students and alumni may work and communicate together for the benefit of both groups.<\/h3>\n

The student director serves in an ex-officio capacity and is expected to attend all Board meetings which are held at the School of Law on a bi-monthly basis throughout the academic year (i.e., August, October, December, February, and April).\u00a0 The Board meetings begin at 4:30 p.m. and generally last for one and a half hours.<\/h3>\n

The student director is also expected to assist with the class gift campaign.<\/h3>\n

Applications for the 2017-18 student director to the LAA Board of Directors will be accepted from upper division law students who are in good standing.\u00a0 Applications should include:<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. \n

    why he or she wants to serve on the LAA Board;<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \n

    why the student believes that he or she should be selected for the position;<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n
  3. \n

    a copy of the student\u2019s resume; and<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n
  4. \n

    a proposed plan for the year ahead.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The LAA Board\u2019s executive committee will review the application materials and select students will be invited by Monday, April 23 to interview.
