{"id":45879,"date":"2017-06-21T11:14:42","date_gmt":"2017-06-21T15:14:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/?p=45879"},"modified":"2017-06-21T11:14:42","modified_gmt":"2017-06-21T15:14:42","slug":"important-building-announcements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/2017\/06\/21\/important-building-announcements\/","title":{"rendered":"Important Building Announcements"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Building Hours\/Access<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>First, we are changing our building hours to <strong>7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.<\/strong> Please note that these are just the hours that the doors are unlocked; you will still have <strong>24\/7 access<\/strong> by using your <strong>ZIPCard<\/strong> to access <strong>Door Number 1<\/strong> (the card reader is on a separate post in front of the door on the left). Door Number 1 is to the left of the entrance we used this past year\u2014that entrance is now locked. For those of you who are taking classes this summer, please be sure that you keep your <strong>ZIPCard<\/strong> with you if you happen to step outside during breaks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The University of Akron: A Smoke-Free and Tobacco-Free Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As you may have heard, The University of Akron\u2014in keeping with its goal of being a healthy and respectful campus\u2014is becoming a completely smoke-free and tobacco-free campus beginning on <strong>July 1.<\/strong> This means that the use of any product that contains tobacco or nicotine is prohibited on all University grounds, including in vehicles parked on University grounds. This prohibition applies to all on campus, including faculty, staff, students, and visitors.<\/p>\n<p>The University has a website available where you can learn more about the upcoming change and about the University\u2019s offerings for students and employees who wish to quit smoking or using tobacco. You can learn more at <a href=\"http:\/\/uakron.edu\/tobacco-free\">http:\/\/uakron.edu\/tobacco-free<\/a>. If you wish to smoke, you are welcome to do so on sidewalks on public streets (although the University requests that, to remain good neighbors with our community, you refrain from tobacco use in the areas adjacent to University property).
