{"id":46119,"date":"2017-07-06T00:01:32","date_gmt":"2017-07-06T04:01:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/?p=46119"},"modified":"2017-07-06T00:02:09","modified_gmt":"2017-07-06T04:02:09","slug":"bar-exam-upcoming-bar-preparation-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/2017\/07\/06\/bar-exam-upcoming-bar-preparation-events\/","title":{"rendered":"Bar Exam:  Upcoming Bar Preparation Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center\">Workshop Series<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Monday, July 10 &#8211; \u00a0MPT Exam Simulation<\/strong><\/span>:\u00a0 Every year, a few foolhardy souls never get around to writing any MPT essays until the morning of the first day of the bar exam.\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t usually end well.\u00a0 Take advantage of the opportunity to write an MPT essay under exam conditions.\u00a0 (I will select an essay that is not used by any vendor this year, and was not used in ALA in 2016-17.) \u00a0I will have a sample answer, the formal point sheet, and you are free to submit it for feedback.\n<ul>\n<li>1:00 PM &#8211; 2:30 PM<\/li>\n<li>6:00 PM &#8211; 7:30 PM<\/li>\n<li>Light meal and casual conversation starting 30 minutes ahead of each simulation.<\/li>\n<li>Please <a href=\"https:\/\/akron.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_6PEKPpIV8o2xpeR\">sign up here<\/a> so I know how much food to order.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">Making up the Rules: \u00a0Date TBD<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000\">: \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">I&#8217;ve had a couple of requests to repeat the Making up the Rules Workshop. \u00a0I&#8217;ll come up with a new set of snippets from prompts and run it again. \u00a0(With any luck, the Supreme Court will actually release the prompts from February 2017 and I can use some of those!) \u00a0Since the snippets will be new,\u00a0the workshop won&#8217;t just be a repeat of the prior one, so if it was helpful you have another opportunity for practice. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/akron.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_d0z9kWUeibcnl4x\">Vote here for the workshop date<\/a> &#8211; I&#8217;ll pick the one that is convenient for as many of you as I can.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>Saturday, July 15, 12:00 \u2013 5:00 PM:\u00a0 Half-day Hangout<\/strong><\/span>: \u00a0Drop in for a meal, or two. \u00a0I&#8217;ll have homemade food (sloppy joes, multiple varieties of hummus &amp; veggies, and freshly baked bread), an informal repeat of any workshops you missed, a chance to ask whatever you haven\u2019t gotten around to asking. \u00a0I\u2019ll time essays, MPTs, or MBE sets.\u00a0 Whatever (within reason) will help you make it through this final stretch. \u00a0Feel free to drop in and grab food, even if you don&#8217;t feel the need for any specific assistance.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">If plan to\u00a0take a bar exam someday &#8211; even if you aren&#8217;t taking one in a few weeks, feel free to drop in to ask questions about\u00a0the bar exam (Which courses should you take to best prepare for the bar exam &#8211; whichever bar exam\u00a0you&#8217;re taking? Is it true that Payment Systems and Secured Transactions are so similar that you only need to take one of them?
