Burger Writing Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Warren E. Burger Prize is a writing competition designed to encourage outstanding scholarship that \u201cpromotes the ideals of excellence, civility, ethics and professionalism within the legal profession,\u201d the core mission of the American Inns of Court. The American Inns of Court invites judges, lawyers, professors, <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">students<\/span><\/strong>, scholars, and other authors to participate in the competition by submitting an original, unpublished essay of 10,000 to 25,000 words on a topic of their choice addressing issues of legal excellence, civility, ethics and professionalism.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The author of the <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">winning essay will receive a cash prize of $5,000 and the essay will be published in the South Carolina Law Review<\/span><\/strong>. The Warren E. Burger Prize is presented annually as part of the American Inns of Court Celebration of Excellence at the Supreme Court of the United States in October.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Submissions are due by June 1<\/span><\/strong> to the American Inns of Court national office.\u00a0 The winning essay will be selected by September 1.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0More information can be found at <a title=\"http:\/\/www.innsofcourt.org\/Content\/Default.aspx?Id=309\" href=\"http:\/\/www.innsofcourt.org\/Content\/Default.aspx?Id=309\">http:\/\/www.innsofcourt.org\/Content\/Default.aspx?Id=309<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Warren E.
