Think of this like Shark Tank, except that you are competing for prize money for a social cause that you care about.<\/p>\n<h4>STEPS TO APPLY<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete this\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdhET5C1HKXB69FRSsuPz-Tb6aQzQQa479xsjWUlsUprjlTyg\/viewform?usp=sf_link\">initial application<\/a>\u00a0by<strong>\u00a0Monday, March 19<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>After we receive your initial application, you are then to meet with a community business mentor who will provide feedback on your idea.<\/li>\n<li>Complete a\u00a0two-page final application\u00a0which provides more detail about your venture by\u00a0<b>Friday, March 23<sup>rd<\/sup>.\u00a0<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The final application will be emailed to you after you submit your initial application.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Participate in the semi-final pitch competitions on\u00a0<strong>April 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 4<sup>th<\/sup>, and 5th.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Five finalists will compete at the final pitch competition on\u00a0<strong>Thursday, April 19<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>The top prize\u00a0of $10,000 will be awarded to the winner, and additional prizes in the thousands of dollars will be awarded to runners-up!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Learn more about\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/uakron.edu\/venture\">entrepreneurship and innovation<\/a>\u00a0at UA.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Social Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition Presented by The University of Akron Have an idea to improve the community?\u00a0BE THE CHANGE 10K\u00a0is a pitch competition where University of Akron students have a chance to compete for a top prize of $10,000 to benefit the community.
