Elections\u00a0for the 2018-2019 Student Bar Association Leadership are\u00a0 underway!\u00a0 All\u00a0students can\u00a0now\u00a0begin the process of determining who the 2018-2019\u00a0SBA\u00a0executive board and class representatives will be.\u00a0Remember, all students are automatically members of the Student Bar Association; therefore it is important that you are all involved in the process of choosing your class representatives and executive board. Each class (1L, 2L, 3L, part-time) will elect 4 class representatives.\u00a0 The person who receives the most votes will be appointed the class president.\u00a0 The executive board is composed of the president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary.\u00a0 Your vote is crucial in electing all of these positions!\u00a0SBA\u00a0elections\u00a0are a three-step process:<\/p>\n
First, all those who\u00a0hope to be\u00a0nominated\u00a0for an executive\u00a0board\u00a0or class representative\u00a0position on\u00a0SBA\u00a0must\u00a0get\u00a0at least two<\/strong>\u00a0nominations\u00a0(you are able to\u00a0nominate yourself).\u00a0Nominations\u00a0will open on\u00a0Wednesday, April 11th\u00a0<\/strong>and will close on\u00a0Friday, April 13th\u00a0at 6 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n Second, each individual who receives at least two\u00a0nominations\u00a0for a position will receive an email asking if they would like to accept their\u00a0nomination\u00a0and run for the position.\u00a0 If\u00a0nominated for both a class representative and executive board position, you may choose to run for both.\u00a0 That way, if you do not win the executive board position, you remain in the running as a class representative.\u00a0 However, you may NOT run for two executive board positions.\u00a0 If\u00a0nominated\u00a0for more than one executive board position, you will have to chose which one to accept. A student must accept his or her\u00a0nomination\u00a0for a position via email or the student will not be on the ballot.<\/p>\n Third, all\u00a0nominees\u00a0for President will be invited to participate in an open forum with your classmates on\u00a0Monday, April 16th at 12:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m<\/strong>. to briefly discuss why you would like the position and answer any questions from your classmates.\u00a0The final poll with\u00a0all of the candidates that have accepted their\u00a0nominations\u00a0will\u00a0open on\u00a0Wednesday, April 18th<\/strong>.\u00a0The final poll will\u00a0close on\u00a0Friday, April 20th at 6 p.m<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The person with the most votes\u00a0for each position will\u00a0win. Each\u00a0elected\u00a0individual will receive an email notification\u00a0and their names\u00a0and position\u00a0will be displayed on the announcement blog.
