AkronLawJobs No. 9350 Overview: <\/em><\/strong>The legal intern will work directly under the Human Resources Manager and\/or General Counsel and will provide support primarily to VSolvit\u2019s Human Resources Department.<\/p>\n

Responsibilities: <\/em><\/strong>\u00a0Conduct extensive research on applicable labor laws and regulations and advise the Human Resources Department on compliance issues. \u2022 Identify, assess, and mitigate risks relative to terminations, layoffs, and disciplinary actions. \u2022 Assist with internal corporate investigations and preparation and execution of sworn declarations. \u2022 Assist with defense of various employment claims (e.g., unemployment, wage and hour, discrimination and harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, and constructive discharge). \u2022 Draft and\/or review legal documents (e.g., employment agreements, bonus agreements, and consultancy agreements). \u2022 Organize and maintain HR files in paper or electronic filing systems. \u2022 Schedule and arrange meetings, interview, and conference calls. \u2022 Draft correspondence to employees, outside counsel, and VSolvit management \u2022 Assist in other legal and HR tasks as necessary.<\/p>\n

Qualifications: <\/em><\/strong>1st or 2nd year law student at top-tier, ABA-accredited law school OR recent law graduate \u2022 Minimum GPA of 3.0 \u2022 Strong overall academic record Qualifications \u2022 Strong interest in employment law \u2022 Strong legal research and writing skills \u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills \u2022 Demonstrated verbal\/written communication and interpersonal skills \u2022 Strong commitment to being a team player\/contributor \u2022 Highly-motivated, proactive and quick learner \u2022 Independent and resourceful \u2022 Enthusiastic, professional character.<\/p>\n
