Akron\nBar Foundation Fellowship – Summer 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Career Services Office is excited to announce that the Akron\nBar Foundation will be awarding fellowship stipends to first and second\nyear law students while the student(s) is performing a summer clerkship with a\nnot-for-profit, public interest or government position. The ABF Fellowship is\navailable to any University of Akron Law School student completing their first\nor second year (full-time program) or second and third year (part-time program)\ncurriculum. Recipients must commit to working in the position for at least 25 hours\nper week for a period of not less than ten (10) weeks, starting the third week\nof May. Students must arrange for work in a not-for-profit, public interest or\ngovernment position prior to submitting an application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To apply, students must submit an application to the Career Services Office by 12 noon on Monday, April 8, 2019. <\/strong>The application that is submitted must include: (i) a completed and signed Fellowship Program application form\u00a0\u00a0(available in the CSO, or\u00a0email lawcareerplanning@uakron.edu<\/a> to request an application and instructions\u00a0be emailed to you); (ii) law and graduate school (if applicable) transcripts (official copy, if possible), honors and awards; (iii) a current resume; (iv) a personal statement; (v) a statement from the employer confirming employment and the anticipated dates of employment; and (vi) such other information as requested. The application also may include letters of recommendation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Up to five applicants for the ABF Fellowship will be chosen for a personal interview to be conducted by select members of the Akron Bar Foundation on April 17, 2019 at the School of Law. The number of ABF fellowships awarded and the amount awarded will be determined by the Akron Bar Foundation, but the amount of an individual award shall not be less than $2,500. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
