It\nruns for two weeks from Monday August 12th through Friday August 23rd. The\nclass meets in plenary sessions from 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through\nFriday the first week and Monday through Thursday the second week. During these\nsessions there will be lectures and demonstrations on various trial skills by\nexperience, practicing trial lawyers and judges. We won\u2019t ask you to do\nanything we\u2019re unwilling to do first. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\nwill also meet in small groups in the evenings from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.\nThe small groups meet Monday through Thursday the first week and Monday through\nWednesday the second week. No more than four students and no fewer than two\nexperienced, practicing trial lawyers are assigned to each small group. The\nsole purpose of the small group is to get you ready for trial on Friday August\n23rd \u2013 the experienced trial lawyers serving as personal coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\nwill work with a partner throughout the course. On Friday August 23rd, you and\nyour partner will try a simulated case against two other students before a real\njudge in the Summit County Common Pleas Courthouse beginning at 8:30 a.m. The\ntrials usually end early afternoon. The entire fall 2019 entering law school\nclass will serve as witnesses and jurors as an integral part of their\norientation to law school. After the trials, we will all find a place to gather\nand celebrate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What\nare the advantages of this course?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You\u2019ll earn 3\n     credit hours in two weeks.<\/li><li>You\u2019ll meet\n     and work with 25 or more experience trial lawyers and judges \u2013 many of\n     whom are prospective employers.<\/li><li>You\u2019ll try a\n     case in front of a real judge, in a real courtroom.<\/li><li>You\u2019ll learn\n     valuable skills.<\/li><li>This course\n     counts just like Trial Advocacy I toward your litigation certificate.<\/li><li>This course\n     makes you eligible to take Trial Advocacy II as early as fall 2019.<\/li><li>\u201cThe Roo\n     Award\u201d (a 6\u201d brass Zippy kangaroo statue) is presented to the \u201cbest\n     advocate\u201d in each trial to proudly display in your office forever.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>There\nare openings in the class.
