The IIA\nseeks a fall semester law clerk to join its legal team.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duties: <\/strong>Will work as a\nteam member in providing immigration legal services to clients in the\nImmigration Legal Department. Will provide general support to staff attorneys\nin their representation of legal clients before U.S. Citizenship and\nImmigration Services, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, U.S. Department of State\nand the Executive Office of Immigration Review. Assist attorneys with initial\nclient intake; Prepare immigration applications for clients; Interact directly\nwith clients to obtain the correct information and documentation for their\napplications; Perform legal research and analysis; Draft legal memorandums; Assist\nclients and walk-ins at Front Desk Reception area; and&nbsp;Complete other\nduties as assigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications: <\/strong>1L, 2L,\n3L.&nbsp;Must be passionate and driven and able to commit to either a part-time\nor a full-time position from approximately August &#8211; December 2019.&nbsp;Must be\neither enrolled in law school or paralegal school. Must be able to work\neffectively in a fast-paced environment. Must possess effective verbal,\nwritten, de-escalation, and interpersonal skills; Must be able to work as part\nof a team; Must demonstrate a commitment to immigrant rights and willingness to\nsupport IIA&#8217;s mission, vision, and values. Must demonstrate a commitment to\nworking in a diverse working environment. Must be fluent in English.
