The office also represents the United States and its departments\nand agencies in civil proceedings filed in federal court and in the Sixth\nCircuit. Volunteer law clerks assist in the prosecution and defense of both\ncriminal and civil cases in the District Court of the Court of Appeals for the\nSixth Circuit, and the Bankruptcy Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Duties: <\/strong>Can expect to\nresearch and write motions in pending cases; to research legal issues for\nindictments and investigations; to assemble exhibits for trial; to observe\nhearings and trials of cases on which they are working or in which they are\ninterested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications: <\/strong>1L (second\nsemester) and 2L.
