\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>FRIENDLY REMINDER . . . 91 credits required (instead of 88 credits) if GPA requires enrollment in 9200:673 Advanced Legal Applications<\/span>, 3 credits, for Spring 2012.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>SCENARIO #1:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Present accumulative GPA before this fall 2011 semester is 2.5 or lower, then 91 credits are required to graduate which will include 9200:673 Advanced Legal Applications, 3 credits, spring 2012.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Course Requirements Based Upon UPPER DIVISION (Nearing Completion) Students<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Effective with Fall 2008 Class:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bar Preparation Course (9200:673), Advanced Legal Applications<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong>*Mandatory enrollment in the Bar Preparation Course, 9200:673, Advanced Legal Applications applies to:<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

(a) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Any student planning to graduate in December of a given year, who had a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or lower at the beginning of the fall semester of the year immediately preceding the year in which they intend to graduate, and <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>(b) \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 any student planning to graduate in May of a given year, who had a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or lower at the beginning of the immediately preceding fall semester, must enroll in the Bar Preparation Course, beginning with the class entering in 2008. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>In addition, such enrollment is recommended for students in classes entering prior to <\/span><\/strong>2008.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>*This restriction shall end if the student achieves an accumulative law GPA of 2.7 or higher.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/h6>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>SCENARIO #2:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 GPA end First Semester is 2.0 or lower:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Course Requirements Based Upon First SEMESTER Grades<\/span><\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong>Effective with Fall 2008 Entering Class:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong>A student with an accumulative law grade point average of 2.0 or below (or 2.3 or below effective with the Fall 2009 entering class and subsequent entering classes) at the end of the first semester of law studies is subject to the following requirements:<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/strong>1. The student will be assigned to a two-credit Criminal Law Lab in addition to Criminal Law. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>2. The student will be withdrawn from LARW II during the spring semester. The student will take LARW II during the summer after the first year of law school. If the student is in the part-time program, the student will also take Property I & II during the summer of the first year of law school. Students may not be employed if enrolled in Property I, Property II and LARW II. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a03<\/span><\/strong>. The student may be required to take additional not for credit Lab courses prior to graduation.*<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>4. The student will be required to take the Bar Exam Preparation Course (3 credits) during the final semester prior to graduation. As a result, the student will be required to successfully complete 91 credits (rather than 88 credits) in order to graduate.*<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>5.\u00a0 The student will be required to enroll in the Academic Success Program.*<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>*This restriction shall end if the student achieves an accumulative law GPA of 2.7 or higher.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>Students required to earn 91 credits must plan to achieve those 91 credits WITHOUT EXCEEDING the absolute maximum number of 17 credits in fall 2011 or spring 2012.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The maximum load = 16 credits in a fall or spring semester.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Overload permission may be granted to enroll in 17 credits rather than 16 credits if<\/span><\/em> a student achieves a 2.5 or higher accumulative GPA.\u00a0 At this point, the next opportunity to be considered for overload would be end of Fall 2011<\/em> if your accumulative GPA is 2.50 or higher.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Overload request form may be found at <\/strong>http:\/\/www.uakron.edu\/dotAsset\/1837513.pdf<\/span><\/a>. <\/strong><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
