This is a two-year appointment\nthrough June 30, 2021 for a 1L or 2L law student who is in good standing.&nbsp; This unique and valuable opportunity provides\nthe Associate Student Director a chance to become involved in alumni leadership\nand activities with the Law School.&nbsp; The Associate\nStudent Director works with the Student Director to represent Akron Law students\nto the LAA Board and works with the Student Director and Board to identify ways\nin which students and alumni may work and communicate together for the benefit\nof both groups.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Associate Student\nDirector serves in an ex-officio capacity and is expected to attend all Board\nmeetings which are held at the School of Law on a bi-monthly basis throughout\nthe academic year (i.e., August, October, December, February, and April).&nbsp;\nThe Board meetings begin at 4:30 p.m., and generally last for one and a half\nhours.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Associate Student\nDirector is also expected to assist with the class gift campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for\nthe 2019-20 Associate Student Director to the LAA Board should include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>why he or she\nwants to serve on the LAA Board;<\/li><li>why the student\nbelieves that he or she should be selected for the position;<\/li><li>a copy of the\nstudent\u2019s resume; and,<\/li><li>a proposed plan\nfor the year ahead. &nbsp; <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The LAA Board\u2019s\nexecutive committee will review the application materials and select students\nwill be invited by Friday, October 11 to interview.&nbsp;
