{"id":7422,"date":"2011-09-16T13:29:23","date_gmt":"2011-09-16T18:29:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/?p=7422"},"modified":"2011-09-16T13:49:52","modified_gmt":"2011-09-16T18:49:52","slug":"2011-2012-presidential-management-fellows-pmf-program-now-open-submit-nomination-forms-to-cppo-by-monday-september-26-at-5-p-m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/law\/2011\/09\/16\/2011-2012-presidential-management-fellows-pmf-program-now-open-submit-nomination-forms-to-cppo-by-monday-september-26-at-5-p-m\/","title":{"rendered":"2011-2012 Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program Now Open &#8212; Submit Current Resume and Nomination Forms to CPPO by Monday, September 26 at 5 p.m."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">2011-12 Presidential Management Fellows Program:<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 The 2011-2012 Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program application season\u00a0 opened on September 15, 2011. \u00a0Approximately 850 3Ls, LLMs, and other Graduate Students will be selected for this two-year program which places applicants in public policy and management positions with a variety of federal agencies and departments.\u00a0 In 2011, 860 finalists were selected from 9,000 applicants; by Summer\u2019s end, 400 had found placements.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The program provides a <strong>two-year federal government fellowship<\/strong> to individuals who have completed a graduate-level course of study at an accredited college or university.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0PMF assignments may involve public policy and administration, domestic or international issues, information technology, human resources, engineering, health and medical sciences, law, financial management, and many other fields in support of public service programs.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Program Requirements:\u00a0 Candidates must be U.S. citizens (with a few exceptions listed on website) and receive graduate degrees by August 31, 2012.\u00a0 Qualified non-citizens may contact <a href=\"mailto:pmfapplication@opm.gov\" target=\"_blank\">pmfapplication@opm.gov<\/a> to request a temporary 9-digit number to use for social security number during application.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Deadline: <\/strong>The on-line application for the PMF Class of 2012 will open on <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Thursday, September 15, 2011<\/span> <\/strong>and close on <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Sunday, September 25, 2011.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For further information on the PMF Program, please visit <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pmf.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">www.pmf.gov<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<strong>Application Process:\u00a0 <\/strong>Between Sept. 15 and <strong>Sun., Sept. 25, 2011 <\/strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">apply<\/span> through USAJOBS by submitting resume; online questionnaire (includes biographical information, preferences for geographical placement and assessment center preferences, veterans preference eligibility, and demonstration of key skills and competencies) and documentation for Veteran\u2019s Preference if claimed.\u00a0 Also, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">print Nomination Form<\/span> and submit to your school\u2019s Nomination Official.\u00a0 The Official will conduct a competitive nomination process using criteria such as breadth\/quality of accomplishments, capacity for leadership and commitment to excellence in leadership and management of public policies and programs, and provide PMF with recommendations by Sept. 30, 2011.\u00a0 Between Oct. 1 and 10, those recommended will take a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">timed !
