The office also represents the United States and its\ndepartments and agencies in civil proceedings filed in federal court and in the\nSixth Circuit. Volunteer law clerks assist in the prosecution and defense of\nboth criminal and civil cases in the District Court the Court of Appeals for\nthe Sixth Circuit, and the Bankruptcy Court.<br>\n<strong>Duties:<\/strong> Can expect to research and write motions in pending cases; to\nresearch legal issues for indictments and investigations; to assemble exhibits\nfor trial; to observe hearings and trials of cases on which they are working or\nin which they are interested. <br>\n<strong>Qualifications:<\/strong> 1L (second semester) and 2L.
