What to Expect: <\/strong>Our 1L Scholars Legal Internship Program is a paid, full time, 10-12 week summer program offered in partnership with the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity and the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease (Vorys). This comprehensive program provides law students completing their first year of studies with the opportunity to intern with the in-house legal team at our Solon, Ohio headquarters. Participants will receive hands-on experience working with the Nestl\u00e9 Legal team in areas such as intellectual property, litigation, commercial contracts, employment, advertising, food law and general legal matters. In\u2013house lawyers will provide mentoring to participants with developmental feedback to gain a better understanding of the unique role of an in-house law department at the world\u2019s largest food company. Additionally, through our partnership with the Vorys law firm, participants will have the opportunity to work two to three weeks at Vorys\u2019s Cleveland, OH office doing work for Vorys clients and be integrated into training programs and events. During the time with Vorys, participants will have the opportunity to work directly with associates and partners, where they will gain experience and in-sights from working at one of America\u2019s premier law firms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a legal intern at Nestl\u00e9 USA, you will gain exposure to senior legal leadership and develop your professional network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Reviewing and drafting commercial contracts<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Assisting with the development of policies, training materials, checklists and guidelines in a variety of practice areas including employment and environmental law<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Preparing cease and desist letters for commercial and intellectual property disputes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Investigating and managing potential trademark infringement matters<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Research current trends in food law<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Digital and Social Media Matters<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements: <\/strong>This internship is limited to individuals completing their first year of law school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preferred Qualifications: <\/strong>3.0 or above cumulative GPA<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Willing to work for 10-12 consecutive weeks in summer of 2021<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Willing to work in Solon, Ohio for the duration of the internship<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowledge & Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Strong communication, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Self-starter who is results-oriented and exhibits responsibility, creativity, and intellectual curiosity<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Involvement in extracurricular activities, demonstrating initiative and leadership<\/p>\n\n\n\n
