Akron, OH \u2013 Law Clerk – City of Akron Law Department<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Law Clerk \u2013 City of Akron Prosecutor\u2019s Office:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prepares legal arguments including established precedents in cases involving the City of Akron.  Does legal research and prepares legal briefs.  Locates and interviews witnesses.  Files required legal documents with the governmental agency involved in the court action.  Obtains necessary documents from involved agency as required for proper, adequate court action.  Performs other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minimum Qualifications: Currently enrolled in an accredited law school and must possess a Legal Intern Certificate or be eligible to obtain it (59 or more law school credits; rising 3Ls )<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowledge of interrelationships of government agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ability to present concise logical arguments orally and in writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Law Clerks are requested to work 28 hours per week and specified working hours for the Prosecutor’s Office are below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monday         12:30 pm – 4:30 pm
Tuesday         8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Wednesday   8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Thursday       8:00 am – 4:30 pm<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This schedule can be flexible! Candidates must meet the qualifications and requirements listed in the announcement at the time of examination and at the time of appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
