Program \u2013 Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evaluate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As you may know, our UA Police Department has adopted the A.L.i.C.E. program teaching proactive measures to be taken when faced with an assailant entering a building or classroom.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>A.L.i.C.E. stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate<\/strong>.<\/span>\u00a0 This nationally-renowned training was developed following examination of school shootings, such as the one that occurred at Colombine . . . and closer to our community we consider Appalachian School of Law, Case Western Reserve University and now Chardon.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><strong>UAPD will be here to deliver A.L.i.C.E. training sessions, as follows<\/strong><\/span>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>LAW STUDENTS (lunch hour)<\/strong><br \/>\nMonday, March 26 \u2013 Noon to 1:00 \u2013 Law Student Lunchroom<\/p>\n<p><strong>LAW STUDENTS (dinner hour)<\/strong><br \/>\nWednesday, March 28 \u2013 5:30 \u2013 6:30 \u2013 Law Student Lunchroom<\/p>\n<p>The faculty and staff went through this training yesterday and we highly recommend that all of you take part!\u00a0 Come dressed ready to participate, there is an opportunity for interaction.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, please view the brief intro training video prior to our in-service training session.\u00a0 See:\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uakron.edu\/safety\/police\/services\/training.dot\">http:\/\/www.uakron.edu\/safety\/police\/services\/training.dot<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A.L.i.C.E.
