Dr. Lin, who teaches intercultural communication at\u00a0UA, will use\u00a0<strong>submissions from The Race Card Project display in Bierce lobby<\/strong>\u00a0to start conversations about race, ethnicity and identity. \u00a0Please join us!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-2762 alignleft\" style=\"color: #333333;font-style: normal;line-height: 24.375px\" alt=\"Dr. Lin Flyer Large\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.uakron.edu\/liblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/860\/2014\/02\/Dr.-Lin-Flyer-Large-231x300.jpg\" width=\"231\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">February 10, 2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The opening of the exhibit <strong>\u201cThis is Akron with Opie Evans: The Rubber City as Seen through the Lens of One of Its Earliest African-American Photographers&#8221;<\/strong>\u00a0at the McClain Gallery of Akron\u2019s Black History and Culture. Reception on February 10th\u00a0from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibit is a partnership between the McClain Gallery, Pan-African Center for Community Studies and Archival Services of University Libraries.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">February 14, 2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Lisa Lazar will be hosting\u00a0<strong>Different faces, different films:\u00a0 examining the portrayal of race in different types of film and exploring race-related film resources at Bierce Library <\/strong>on Friday, February 14<sup>th<\/sup> from 10-11:30am in room 154 in Bierce Library.
